Keyboards are available wired or wireless:

• Wired: These are either PS/2 or USB.

 • Wireless: The keyboard and a receiver that connects to a USB port.

A mouse in an input device that uses point and click technology to interact with software applications.

Ball mouse: This uses a ball to roll across the surface and move rollers attached to sensors inside the mouse that reflect the ball movement as cursor movement.

Optical mouse: This uses a camera to take thousands of images per second and sent them for digital processing. The red LED lights up the surface for the camera.

Graphics tablets in applications such as Illustration Graphics, Image Editing and CAD.

Printers They can print onto paper, transparency sheets, photographic paper, card etc.

There are two main technologies involved:

Inkjet (Bubblejet) Inkjet printer operates by propelling variably-sized droplets of liquid or molten material (ink) onto almost any sized page.

Laser Laser printers are used for high volume work. They are available in black and colour.

Dot-Matrix :Multifunction Printer an MFP is an office machine which incorporates the functionality of multiple devices in one. (Printer, Scanner, Photocopier, Fax)

Thermal Printer are used in calculators and fax machines.

Toner :(powdered ink) is used instead of liquid ink as in inkjet printers.

Printers can be purchased as A4, A3 and A2,plotter is more suitable larger drawings and images. They use inkjet technology and are available in A3, A2 A1 and A0.
